Herbert James Jackson was born in Boston Massachusetts, the eldest of four children. Raised by both parents up to the age of nine, then his parents had his three siblings a year apart.  By the time Herb was 12 years of age he had completed his holy confirmation and served as the first African American altar boys in Boston’s St. Angela’s catholic diocese. He immediately left the church and pursued a music career in the middle 70’s with a local group of young men calling themselves “The Energetics”

Whose style emulating The Jackson 5, The Temptations, The Osmond Brothers, and many other Pop and R&B singing groups, a career that spanned over the next 10 years.  Landing them a record deal with Atlantic Records an album produced by Edward & Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier legendary Motown Records hit making icons.

Shortly thereafter in the early 80’s they were offered a new label deal with Tommy Boy Records in Manhattan New York. With Hip Hop Break Beat producers Arthur Baker, Jon Robie, and Tom Silverman the endeavor lead to a name change to “Planet Patrol”, with hits like, “Play At Your Own Risk” and “Cheap Thrills”.  During that run in the music business Herb experienced a cocaine dependency which lead to an over dose on freebasing, mixed pills, and alcohol.

It was during this time Herb clinically died and had an out of body experience, which lead him back to the Lord, Jesus Christ. Herb quickly went to church, Morning Star Baptist, where the Pastor was his former group member Reverend John “Tony” Borders III, who along with a up and coming evangelist Jennifer Hightower help lead and nurture him in the things of the Lord.  Herb attended The Body of Jesus Christ School of Ministerial Studies and Beth-el Apostolic Ministries under the late Bishop Robert Evans Jr.

Herb Jackson has pastured The House of Deliverance Outreach Ministries, was the Music Director on Salem Communications WEZE 590AM in Boston, and hosted his own cable program Gospotainment where he interviewed many of today’s popular artist, from Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker, Karen Clark, Donald Lawrence, The Williams Brothers, Mother Dorothy Norwood, and many others.

Now Prophet, Evangelist, and Pastor Herb Jackson who is currently a member of Greater Love Tabernacle Church, Boston, MA, where Bishop William E. Dickerson, II and Lady Luella Dickerson are the Pastors.
